My Story

How I got to be the Busy Bumble Bee

At some point in college, I had four jobs all while taking 18 hours of upper-level college courses. My now-husband thought I was crazy (and married me anyways). That's one of the many moments in my life I realized that I liked to be busy. I don't like sitting still too long, I move furniture around constantly, and I'm always, always planning.

In October 2021, I decided that at the end of the school year I would take a step back from the classroom. I had been a teacher for seven years, and while my passion for kids was there, my own kids needed me, my mental health was failing, and I did not like the path I was on. I began to search for something more.

I came across becoming a Virtual Assistant and quickly found my VA Idol, Aubree Malick. Her podcast spoke directly to my heart, and I cried the first time I listened to her speak about being a burnt-out teaching with a desire to be a more present mom all while running a successful business. I felt like she was talking to me, in fact, she could have been me.

So, as I do, I dove in. I scored my first client within a month of starting my business and I have been growing since then. By May of 2022, I was getting up at 5 in the morning, doing VA work during lunch, and staying up well past my kid's bedtime, all to make this dream come true. Now I'm a full-time Virtual Assistant, Stay-at-home mom, and occasional preschool substitute.

I now have time to spend with my kids. I'm a more patient mom, wife, and human being. I feel happier and I feel like I am on the right path.

Through those experiences and feelings, The Busy Bumble Bee was born. I'm so glad that you are here with me on this adventure.
